Iran awards South Pars gas construction deal

Petropars, a subsidiary of National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), has awarded a $284m engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for the development of the giant South Pars gas field to the local Aras consortium.

Aras will construct four metal storage tanks with capacity of 90,000 cubic metres each, along with the creation of fuel and fire extinguishing systems.

The 34-month deal also covers engineering and design services, procurement, accommodation and road facilities.

NIOC expects to award two further EPC deals to a local and foreign consortium respectively in the next month.
