Iran issues Lavan gas tender

06 December 2007
Iranian Offshore Oil Company (IOOC) has issued an international tender for the giant Lavan gas field development which boasts recoverable gas resources estimated at more than 6 trillion cubic feet (tcf).

Iran discovered the field under Lavan Island in the Persian Gulf in 2003.

IOOC says the first phase of the project involves the drilling of seven wells, pipelines, condensate facilities and the production of 300m cubic feet a day (cf/d).

Condensed fluid will then be transmitted to production facilities in Lavan Island.

The second phase consists of the drilling of six wells and the construction of upstream and downstream installations based on 1bn cf/d of gas.

Companies have until 11 December to receive prequalification packages.
