Value of goods from US have risen 60 per cent
- US Exports to Iran reached a total $140m
- US Imports from Iran remain zero
Iranian imports from the US increased 60 per cent in the first half of 2015.
Imports reached a total $140m, compared to $88m in the same period last year.
The US exported a total of $185m to Iran in 2014 and $308m in 2013. Exports from Iran to the US remained at zero, as they were in 2014, compared to $2.2m in 2013.
Figures of the Iranian Department of Commerce show the highest volume of imports from the US over the past 10 years were made in 2008 when the US exported $683m worth of goods to the country.
Previous reports from Irans media state important imports from the US include essentials such as medical, food supplies, butter, wood paste, bull semen, prosthetic parts and plant seeds.
