Oil Ministry signs contracts with UAE and Chinese firms for the six blocks it awarded in April’s licensing round

Iraq’s Oil Ministry has signed contracts with UAE and Chinese firms for the development of the six oil and gas exploration blocks.

The ministry signed exploration contracts on 3 June with the UAE's Crescent Petroleum for the three blocks: Klabat and Gumar, and Khashm al-Ahmar and Injana in Diyala governorate, and Khudr Al-Mai in Basrah governorate.

The ministry also signed contracts with China Geo-Jade for the Naft Khana and Huwaiza blocks in Diyala and Maysan governorates respectively, and with China's UEG for Sindbad block in Basrah governorate.

MEED had previously reported that the ministry was set to sign these contracts.
