Benjamin Netanyahu warns that time is running out to stop Iran

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says that Israel is “determined” to prevent Iran from having nuclear weapons.

Speaking to delegates at the American-Israel Public Affairs Committee (Aipac), Netanyahu said time is running out to stop Iran’s nuclear ambitions.

“Unfortunately, Iran’s nuclear programme has continued to march forward. Israel has waited for diplomacy to work, we’ve waited for sanctions to work. None of us can afford to wait much longer,” Netanyahu said.

“As prime minister of Israel, I will never let my people live in the shadow of annihilation,” Netanyahu told Aipac. “The Jewish state will not allow those who seek our destruction the means to achieve that goal. A nuclear-armed Iran must be stopped.”

US President Barack Obama said that there was “still a window that allows for a diplomatic resolution” and that there had been too much “loose talk” of war with Iran.
