Istanbul bomb kills four

25 June 2004
Four people died and 14 were injured on 24 June when a bomb exploded on a bus in Istanbul. Another bomb exploded earlier in Ankara outside the hotel where President Bush is due to stay this weekend.

The Istanbul bomb exploded in the residential district of Fatih, five miles from the NATO summit area. Authorities said militant leftists were suspected in the blasts, which came as police tightened security in Istanbul and Ankara ahead of Bush's visit and the NATO summit, which begins on 28 June.
