Italy's state television corporation RAI has signed a preliminary agreement with the Saudi Arabian Dallah Albaraka Group for the satellite transmission of its Italian language programmes for reception by pay-television in North and South America, Milan press reports say. Dallah Albaraka would manage the satellite down link and be responsible for 50 per cent of the investment required, the newspaper said. For the first year at least, RAI together with Telespazio would negotiate a contract with British Telecommunications to manage the up link.
