A key person involved in the development of the Gulf region’s downstream aluminium sector

Biography:Jamal al-Dhaheri was appointed CEO of Adbic in September 2009. Previously, he was senior vice-president of metals at the firm.
As CEO, his responsibilities include developing petrochemicals and polymers projects, as well as metals and general industry. Al-Dhaheri is leading the development of a metals park at Taweelah, and signing joint venture agreements with Dubai’s Gulf Extrusions and Bahrain’s Midal Cables for construction of an extrusion plant and an aluminium rod plant.
Before joining state-owned Adbic, Al-Dhaheri worked at a number of public firms, including Union Water and Electricity Company, Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and Abu Dhabi Water & Electricity Authority.
He has a master’s degree in business administration from Zayed University and a bachelor’s degree in engineering management from the University of the Pacific in the US.
