Biography Jeff Singer was appointed CEO of Nasdaq Dubai in July 2008.
Established as the Dubai International Financial Exchange in September 2005, the exchange was rebranded as Nasdaq Dubai in November 2008, after Nasdaq OMX, which runs the Nasdaq stock exchange in New York, bought a one-third stake in the exchange.
The remaining stock is owned by Borse Dubai. Under Singer’s leadership, the exchange launched its equity derivatives market in November 2008 and Dubai Gold Securities - its first Shariah-compliant listing - in March 2009.
Singer was previously senior vice-president at the Nasdaq OMX Group, where he was responsible for global business development. Prior to that, he served as president and CEO of US retail advisory company 4R Systems.
He has a master’s degree in business administration from the US’ Harvard Business School.
