Bahrain Petroleum Company plans to shut down low sulphur diesel complex for maintenance turnaround
Japans JGC was the sole bidder on a tender to provide engineering consultancy services for Bahrain Petroleum Companys (Bapco) low sulphur diesel production (LSDP) complex.
The company submitted a bid of $4.76m for the tender, which was opened on 27 June. The contract is expected to be awarded later in the third quarter.
JGC carried out the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) on Bapcos LSDP complex, which was completed in 2007. Bapco plans to shut down the facility in early 2014 for a routine maintenance turnaround.
Bapco is also in the early process of a $6.5bn upgrade of its refinery complex at Sitra.
