Local/UK team is building parking structure for Dubai World Trade Centre
A joint venture of the local Engineering Contracting Company (ECC) and the UKs McLaren Construction has started work on a multi-storey car-park in Dubai.
Construction work on the car park at Dubai World Trade Centre began in March this year. The works are expected to take one year to complete.
The five-storey structure will have a built-up area of 89,000 square metre with 2,800 car parking spaces. The building will also have two helicopter pads and several large scale external LED advertising screens.
The consultant is US-based Parsons. The project client is Dubai World Trade Centre.
In January, The local/UK Al-Futtaim Carillion (AFC) was awarded the estimated AED725m ($198m) contract to build Phase 1A6 of Dubai World Trade Centres One Central development. AFC has already completed Phase 1A2 and is working on Phase 1A5 on the One Central development.
