Jordan Hospitals Association (JHA) and the Private Hospitals Association (PHA), an umbrella group of 42 hospitals, and the 23-member have said the recent increase in electricity tariffs would lead to a 20% increase in medical bills for patients, Jordan Times has reported. "We will revisit our agreements with the Ministry of Health and insurance companies and change prices," PHA president Awni Bashir said, adding that hospitals used to pay 90 fils per kilowatt-hour of electricity, whereas under the amended rate "we started to pay 350 fils."
