Jordan invites bids for phase 3 of Samra power plant

28 March 2011

Bids to be submitted by 22 May

Jordan’s Samra Electric Power Generating Company (Sepco) has invited bids from contractors to install an add-on combined-cycle power project to the Samra thermal power station.

This will be the third stage of the project and is to be constructed on an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) basis.

The winning bidder will install a 140MW steam turbine power generation unit and two heat recovery steam generators. It will also support the two existing Alstom 143MW simple-cycle gas turbine units currently at the site.

Phase three is to be constructed within 24 months. US-based K&M Engineering and Consulting will be the engineering consultant from tendering through to completion.

Bidders have been asked to submit their offers in two sealed envelopes – one containing the technical and commercial proposal and the other containing the price as described in the tender document. Companies are to respond to the request for proposals by 22 May.
