Jordan joins three other Middle East countries seeking funding to support democracy
Jordan is seeking membership of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (ERBD) in order to request funding from the bank and support for its democratic reforms.
Jordan is the fourth Middle East country to seek membership of the ERBD, following Egypt, Morocco and Tunisia. If the ERBD approves the membership of these four countries they could benefit from up to €2.5bn ($3.4bn) in investment a year to support emerging democracies.
