Jordanian firm bids low for Kuwaiti power work

Winning contractor to supply cables for electricity transmission networks

Jordan’s Gulf Cable & Electrical Industries Company is the low bidder for a contract to provide electricity distribution lines in Kuwait.

The company bid KD11.6m for the work, covering the supply of 11kV medium-tension cables for electricity transmission networks.

Indonesia’s PT Sumi Indo Kabel was the only other bidder with a price of KD12.2m.

The ministry had prequalified eight other companies to bid for the contract. They were Saudi Cables Company, the UK’s AEI Cables Company, Italy’s Camuna Cavi, China National Electric Wire & Cable Company, the UAE’s Ducab, South Korea’s Daewon Cable Company, Oman Cables Company and Egytech Cables.

The Electricity & Water Ministry is the client.
