Jubail FEED bids in

Saudi Chevron Phillips Company (SCPC)is evaluating bids from four international companies for the front-end engineering and design (FEED) package on its $1,000 million expansion at Jubail. An award is expected by the end of the year (MEED 19:4:02).

The bidders are Bechtel, Flour Danieland Parsons International, all of the US, and the UK's Kvaerner E&C. The project will involve the installation of benzene, ethyl benzene, styrene and propylene plants at a new complex.

An engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tender for the project is scheduled to be issued early next year and the plant is to be commissioned in 2006. SCPC is a joint venture between the US' Chevron Phillips Chemical Companyand the Saudi Industrial Investment Group, made up of private local investors.
