Jubail land development contracts set to go out to bid

10 April 2008
Bidding is to start on two significant land development packages at Jubail within weeks.

Three 2.5-square-kilometre site development packages are set to be issued, with a planned contract award in October 2008.

A 12-sq-km site development package for labour camps at Jubail 3 is also due to be awarded in the first quarter of 2009.

The client, the Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu, is pushing ahead with a number of further projects.

These include the construction of a switching substation in stage two of Jubail 2, which is due to be awarded in August.

Bidding is also due to start on commercial site development work, covering 3 million square metres, and a cut and fill contract for 2.5 million sq m in the Mutrafiah region, in the near future. Both projects are due to be awarded in October (MEED 27:3:08).
