Jubail recreational project set for completion end of 2009

15 February 2009
Work is due for completion by the end of 2009 for the construction of a new recreational facility at Jubail Industrial City.

To be called the Sea Club, the 200,000 square metre site will comprise a number of buildings, swimming pools and landscaped areas for residents of Jubail.

The local Othman Saleh al-Ghamdi Corporation was awarded the SR20m construction contract in the last quarter 2008, with mobilisation work beginning immediately.

The Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu is the client for the work.

Jubail Industrial City is comprised of five zones: an industrial zone, residential area, community area, airport area and Al-Batwah Island. The Royal Commission has set aside 54 square kilometres of land for an expansion of the industrial city, which will be called Jubail 2 (MEED 16:10:08).
