Qatar General Electricity & Water Corporation (Kahramaa) has issued a tender for power cables as part of the planned phase 9 expansion of the country’s transmission network.
The contract covers the engineering, procurement and construction of underground cables on voltage levels ranging from 220kV to 33kV.
The project is divided into 11 packages, with bidders allowed to bid for several packages. The bid deadline is 25 January 2009.
Kahramaa has already issued a tender for overhead lines for the project.
The contract covers the construction of 25 kilometres of 132kV double circuit lines, 50km of 66kV double circuit lines and 17.5km of 33kV double circuit lines. The deadline for bids is 18 January.
