Iraq province hoping to attract foreign direct investment in manufacturing
Karbala has signed a deal with Iraqs Industry Ministry that will see the creation of an industrial city being built to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in the manufacturing sector.
The Karbala Province has stated it will be willing to develop the site and will allocate land, while the ministry will be responsible for installing infrastructure that will include roads, sewerage systems and power generation.
Karbala is already rehabilitating its major industrial complexes with investments being made in cement production and oil refining.
