Position: President and chief executive officer (CEO), Banque Nationale dAlgerie (BNA)
Biography: Karim Eddine Khellili has been president and CEO of BNA since December 2011. BNA is Algerias first commercial bank, catering to retail clients, small-to-medium enterprises and corporate customers since 1966.
Since 1982, it has embarked on a mission to finance the countrys agriculture and promote rural development. Khellili is also chairman of the Algerian Bank for Foreign Trade (BACE), a lender with more than 30 years experience, headquartered in Zurich. BACE has specialised for several decades in the trade finance business between European countries and Algeria.
It is jointly owned by BNA and the Algerian National Investment Fund. Khellili is vice-president of the Algerian Banking and Finance Association, one of the most influential professional associations in the industry, which promotes communication between financial institutions and the government.
