KCC bids low for Kuwait refinery maintenance

08 February 2012

Third instrument maintenance contract for Kuwait National Petroleum Company

The local KCC Engineering & Contracting has submitted the lowest bid for an instrument maintenance contract at the Mina al-Ahmadi refinery for state-refiner Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC).

KCC’s proposal of KD13.6m ($48.9m) beat rival proposals from eleven other local firms in a 31 January bid round. Arabi Enertech submitted the second lowest bid at $50.1m, just 2.5 per cent above C’s proposal.

KNPC awarded two similar contracts in late-2011 to the local Imco Engineering & Construction for the Mina Abdullah refinery, and to Bader al-Mulla & Bros Company for the Shuaiba refinery.

KCC is also the low bidder for a $28m contract to replace a condensate pipeline in the north of Kuwait for state-upstream operator, Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).
