Kuwait Catalyst Company (KCC) has signed an agreement with US-based Advanced Refining Technologies (ART) and Japan Energy Corporation (JE) to license and manufacture ART residuum hydroprocessing catalysts at its 500-tonne-a-year Shuaiba plant. JE is the technology licensor and catalyst plant designer. Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is expected to be the main customer. ART is a US joint venture of Chevron Products Company and WR Grace & Co's Davison Catalysts.
