The kingdom is pressing ahead with plans to invest billions of dollars on education and training projects. A raft of major new tenders has been issued for the construction of new campuses, buildings and infrastructure for universities across the kingdom.
The Ministry of Higher Education (MOHE) has invited companies to bid for a host of new colleges at Hail, Al-Jouf, Kharj, Al-Baha and Jizan. Each package is estimated to be worth SR 150 million-200 million ($40 million-54 million - see table). The ministry has also invited contractors to submit bids by 3 May for the site preparation and infrastructure package for a new university campus proposed at Jizan.
