The agreement will explore the possibility of developing an R&D centre within KEC, and a Wipro academy to provide IT related training at the economic city.
Earlier this month, KEC also signed an MoU with the local Technical & Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) to establish specialised institutions to train Saudi nationals in communications and IT. The deal will also involve the construction of communication and IT colleges.
KEC will allocate land for the colleges, which will accommodate up to 24,000 students. Masterplans and detailed design drawings are yet to be finalised.
Upon completion, the complexes will be jointly managed by KEC and TVTC (MEED 2:4:08).
