Koreans awarded Creek bridges

Dubai’s Roads & Transport Authority (RTA) has awarded South Korea’s Sungwon Corporation the AED758m ($207m) contract to build two bridges that will take Sheikh Zayed road over the Business Bay extension.

Each bridge will have seven lanes in each direction and will be approximately 610 metres long and 36 metres wide, with 8.5 metres of clearance from the water below.

The consultant on the project is the US/UK joint venture of Parsons International and Halcrow (MEED 11:1:08).

Work on the marine works package is expected to start next year.
