A team of Korea Electric Power Corporation (Kepco) and Saudi Arabia’s Xenel Industries has entered into talks with Amman for the Al-Qatrana independent power project.
The consortium is in negotiations with the Energy & Mineral Resources Ministry, after it submitted the lowest bid for the project in April.
Three other groups had also submitted bids for the project.
They were the Dubai-based AES Oasis with Mitsui & Company and Tohoku Electric Power, both of Japan; the UK's International Power with Saudi Oger and South Korea's Hanwha Engineering & Construction; and by Turkey's Gama Energy with Japan's Mitsubishi Corporation and the local Energy Arabia (MEED 6:8:09).
