Kuwait and Iraq sign two energy deals

Memorandums of understanding cover oil fields and gas imports

Kuwait has signed two energy deals with Iraq after talks held on 29 and 30 March.

One memorandum of understanding (MoU) covers issues regarding oil fields on the border shared by the two countries.

The second MoU covers issues connected to the possibility of Kuwait importing natural gas from Iraq.

The Kuwaiti team that took part in the talks was led by the acting undersecretary of the Oil Ministry, Ali Sabt bin Ali, according to a statement.

Iraq’s delegation was led by Iraqi Oil Ministry official Fayyadh Hassan Nema.
