Ras al-Khaimah airport deal covers ground-handling operations
Kuwait’s National Aviation Services (NAS) has won a ground-handling operations contract for RAK International airport in Ras al-Khaimah.
While the value of the contract is undisclosed, it is understood to be a multimillion-dirham deal. The contract will last for a minimum of five years. Under the deal, NAS will provide ground operation and other services, including passenger handling, ramp and baggage handling, business lounge, cargo services and customer services.
Senior officials in Ras al-Khaimah are planning to expand the airport in the future to accommodate an estimated rise in visitor numbers. The emirate’s carrier RAK Airways relaunched on 10 October 2010 after being out of operation for more than a year.
