Electrical substations and transformer projects for Kuwait Oil Company tender deadline pushed back

State-upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has extended the tender closing date for two electrical works contracts.

The first scheme for the construction of a series of electrical substations in the southeast of the country has been delayed by two months. Proposals are now due on 22 April, instead of the originally planned 19 February deadline.

Seventeen firms have been prequalified for the substation deal in early December, which is estimated to be worth as much as $80m.

KOC also pushed back the submission date to 19 February for a smaller deal for the construction of two electrical transformer stations at the Roudatain D and Sabriya B areas. Bids were originally due on 29 January.

No reason was given for the extension.
