Kuwait Company for Process Plant Construction & Contracting (KCPC) is the low bidder for a major contract to build a car park to serve the planned Jaber al-Ahmed hospital in the South Surra district of Kuwait City.
KCPC’s bid of KD17.8m ($66m) is 8 per cent lower than the next best offer of KD19.4m submitted by the local Alamiah Building Company. First Kuwait General Trading & Contracting is ranked third on price at KD20.8m. Five other local contractors submitted bids for the work.
The project covers the construction of a new multi-floor car park and linking it with the planned hospital which, with more than 1,000 beds, will be the largest in the country when it opens in 2011.
Nine local and international groups are preparing to submit bids for the main hospital construction contract by 26 May (MEED 6:4:08).
The client on both schemes is the Ministry of Public Works.
