Kuwait firm selected for hospital car park contract

Kuwait Company for Process Plant Construction & Contracting (KCPC) has been selected for the contract to build a car park to serve the planned Jaber al-Ahmed hospital in the South Surra district of Kuwait City.

KCPC was the low-bidder for the work with a bid of KD17.8m ($66m). The next lowest bid was KD19.4m, submitted by the local Alamiah Building Company.

First Kuwait General Trading & Contracting was ranked third with KD20.8m. Five other firms bid for the work.

The contract covers the construction of a new multi-floor car park and linking it with the hospital, which will have 1,050 beds, making it the largest in the country.

The deadline for bids for the hospital has been extended for a third time. Originally the closing date was 27 May. It was first pushed back to 29 June and has now been delayed until 29 July (MEED 3:7:08).
