State upstream operator Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has invited seven Grade-1 local contractors to submit bids by 19 August for a contract to build a new oil pipeline between gathering centre 7 and manifold TB-1 at the Burgan field, in southeast Kuwait.
The engineering, procurement and construction contract covers the installation of a 20-inch-diameter, 3.8km-long carbon steel pipeline, complete with all associated civil, mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, cathodic protection and corrosion- monitoring works.
The prequalified companies are Arabi Enertech, Al-Khadda International General Trading & Contracting Company, Almeer Technical Services (Atsco), Combined Group, Heavy Engineering Industries & Shipbuilding Company (Heisco), Mechanical Engineering Contracting Company, and United Gulf Construction Company.
An award is expected by the end of 2008.
