Kuwait invites firms to bid for Subiya work

25 September 2008
Kuwait's Electricity & Water Ministry has invited companies to bid by 28 October for a contract to dredge the seawater outlet canal at Subiya power station.

A pre-tender meeting will be held on 7 October.

The prequalified contractors include US-based Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company, Van Oord of the Netherlands, Dredging International, and Jan De Nul, both of Belgium.

The ministry recently extended the bid deadline for the contract to build a 2,000MW gas-fired combined-cycle power plant at Subiya until 7 October (MEED 19:8:08).

The deadline had previously been extended to 17 August, at the request of bidders.
