Winning contractor to build two new 132kV substations
Kuwait’s Electricity & Water Ministry has issued a tender for the construction of two 132kV substations.
The winning bidder will supply and install Al-Rai Station D and Al-Jeewan Station A. The deadline for bids is 9 March.
The ministry has prequalified 16 groups for the project. They include Germany’s Siemens; Switzerland-based ABB; Japan’s AE Power Systems Corporation with Hitachi High Technologies Corporation and the local Yousuf Ahmed Alghanim & Sons Company; France’s Areva T&D with the local Mohammed Abdulmohsin Al-Kharafi Company; Italy’s Ansaldo with the local Abdullah al-Hamed al-Sagar; South Korea’s Hyundai Heavy Industries with the local Matajer al-Khaleej United General Trading & Contracting Company; and Hyundai Engineering & Construction, also South Korean, with the local United Gulf Construction Company.
