Kuwait’s Electricity & Water Ministry has issued a tender for a contract to link gas turbines at the Shuaiba North power plant with the country’s national control centre at Jabiriya.
The national control centre monitors the country's electricity network.
Bids for the contract are due by 30 December and a pre-bid meeting will be held on 11 November.
The ministry has prequalified six companies for the project. They include Germany’s Siemens, France’s Areva and Europe’s ABB. Three Japanese companies have also been prequalified. They are Toshiba Corporation, Hitachi Zosen Corporation and Mitsubishi Corporation.
