Kuwait issues transmission tender

Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity & Water has issued a tender for the provision and extension of 400-kV ground cables in various parts of the country.

The bid deadline is 16 September and a pre-bid meeting is scheduled for 25 August.

A total of eight consortiums have been prequalified for the project.

They are Japan’s Viscas corporation with The Contractor General Trading & Contracting Company; Japan’s Exsysm Corporation with Abdullah al-Hamed al-Sagar & Bros; Italy’s Prysmian Cables & Systems and Saleh Jamal & Partners; France’s Nexans Cable Company with Abdul Aziz Abdulmohsin al-Rashed & Sons; Japan’s JPower Systems Corporation and Electrical Contracting Company; Switzerland’s Brugg Cables with Hamad Mohammed al-Wazzan; Germany’s Alcatel Kabel and Rafeef General Trading & Contracting Company; and South Korea’s Taihan Electric Company with Rank General Trading & Contracting Company.
