Wara field pressure management deadline delayed a second time

Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) has postponed the submission deadline for three engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) tenders for projects in the northern Burgan-Ahmadi area.

The new deadline for bids for the Wara field pressure management, substation, and overhead tension lines tenders has been set for 5 April, from 27 March.

It is the second time that the pressure management tender deadline has been postponed by a week (MEED:15/04/11)

A total of 30 companies have been prequalified for the project, which is aimed at boosting production of the oil field by reinjecting effluent water produced at nearby water disposal plants.

The scope of the project includes placing 200 water injection wells on the oil field, 20 tanks with a capacity ranging from 10,000 to 24,000 barrels, 60 pumps and 10 water treatment units. Water will be transmitted in a 700km pipeline network.

Completion of the project is anticipated for the second quarter of 2014.

KOC is also tendering the construction of four 132/11kV substations. A total of 35 bidders have been prequalified for this tender, which is expected to be awarded in the second quarter of 2011.

An additional tender for the 132kV overhead tension lines has been delayed in tandem with the substation contract.
