Project includes establishment of 11 new reservoirs, with loading piers at Al-Ahmadi reservoirs
Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has prequalified 16 companies to bid for the expansion and renovation of its Al-Ahmadi warehouse for petroleum products.
The estimated KD68.5m ($242m) project is designed to meet the growing demand for petroleum products in the local market. It includes the establishment of 11 new reservoirs, with loading piers at Al-Ahmadi reservoirs.
The prequalified companies are:
- Aker Kvaerner (Norway)
- Amec (UK)
- China Petroleum Engineering & Construction (China)
- Consolidated Contractors Company (Greece)
- Entrepose Contracting (France)
- Engineers India (India)
- Joannou & Paraskevaides (Cyprus)
- Lurgi (Germany)
- National Petroleum Construction Company (UAE)
- Parsons (US)
- Saipem (Italy)
- SNC Lavalin (Canada)
- Techint (Italy)
- Technip (France)
- Tekfen (Turkey)
- Washington Group (US)
KNPC has also approved a major warehouse project in the Al-Mitlaa area. The planned KD258m scheme includes the establishment of 23 tanks for petroleum products, mainly to store gasoline and diesel products, in addition to the three pipelines to transport products from KNPCs refineries to Al-Mitlaa area.
