Kuwait receives bids for fire stations contract

The local Combined Group Contracting Company submits low bid of KD26.9m

The local Combined Group Contracting Company has submitted the lowest bid for a contract to build fire stations in several locations in Kuwait.

The Combined Group’s bid of KD26.9m ($95.5m) was 3.4 per cent lower than the KD27.8m price submitted by the second lowest bidder, the local Alamiah Building Company.

The local Syed Hamid Behbani & Sons submitted the third lowest bid with a price of KD28.8m. The final bidder, the local Al-Ghanim International General Trading & Contracting Company, submitted a bid of KD29.4m

Kuwait’s Central Tenders Committee (CTC) received bids from the four contactors on 17 October. The client for the project is Kuwait Oil Company (KOC).

The winning contractor will design and build fire stations at locations in North Kuwait, West Kuwait and Burgan.

KOC has tendered a number of public building contracts this year. On 12 October it received bids for the contract to build the new Ahmadi hospital and surrounding residential buildings in the Ahmadi township, located about 40 kilometres south of Kuwait City.

The local Syed Hamid Behbani & Sons submitted the lowest bid of KD86.4m, which was followed by a bid of KD86.9m by the second lowest bidder, the local Al-Ahmadiah Contracting & Trading Company.

The hospital project will have a total built up area of 74,000 square metres (MEED 15:10:10).
