State refinery operator Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) is inviting seven local and international companies to submit bids by 29 May for a contract to supply it with catalysts for its Mina al-Ahmadi refinery.
The invited companies are Advanced Refining Technologies, Chevron Research & Technology Company, UOP and CRI, all of the US, Japan’s Catalyst & Chemicals Industries Company, Albemarle Corporation of The Netherlands, and Kuwait Catalyst Company.
The contract covers the supply of hydrotreating catalysts for the atmospheric residue desulphurisation units at the refinery, which are used to remove sulphur from natural gas and refined petroleum products.
