State refinery operator Kuwait National Petroleum Company (KNPC) has invited eight local companies to submit bids by 4 June for a contract to maintain control systems at its Mina Abdulla refinery.
The engineering, procurement and construction contract, which has a value of up to $75m, covers the maintenance of instrumentation devices and control systems at the 240,000-barrel-a-day facility.
The local/Indian Gulf Spic General Trading & Contracting earlier this year won the contract to upgrade control systems at the refinery, which was built in 1958.
The prequalified companies are:

Ali Alghanim & Sons Company
Almeer Technical Services Company (Atsco)
Instrumentation Installation & Maintenance Company (Imco)
Integral Services Company (Isco)
KCC Engineering & Contracting Company
Kentz Overseas
Kharafi National
