Kuwait seeks consultancies for road package

Scope covers package 3 of First Ring Road

Kuwait’s Public Works Ministry has asked five prequalified consultancies to submit offers for the conceptual design and construction supervision for package 3 of the First Ring Road project.

The consultancies include:

Construction work is ongoing for phases 1 and 2 of the First Ring Road, while the third phase, estimated to carry a budget of $140m by regional projects tracker MEED Projects, is under study.

Scope of package 3 includes an 11-kilometre road, interchanges, road widening, tunneling, drainage and other related facilities.

The Kuwait government has launched a raft of major initiatives to upgrade its strategic road networks, including the First Ring Road, to address increased road congestion particularly in Kuwait City.
