Kuwait set to to issue tender for ring road

06 August 2008

A tender for the eighth ring road in Kuwait is due to be issued in the near future, once design work has been completed.

The local Pan Arab Consulting Engineers, in collaboration with South Africa's BKS Consulting Engineers, is in the final stages of design for the road.

Once the design work has been completed, the tender will be issued.

The ring road is estimated to be 20 kilometres in length.

The Ministry of Public Works is the client.

In March, Japan’s Pacific Consultants International (PCI) signed the consultancy contract for Kuwait’s fifth ring road. The contract covers the upgrade of 14km of the road to bring it up to expressway standard and designing a major intersection (MEED 13:3:08).
