A consortium led by Alstom Grid and Kuwait-based Al-Rashed Holdings has announced the completion of a 300 kV gas-insulated substation project in Kuwait. The subsidiary of France's Alstom said the KD23m ($82.6m) contract was awarded by the Kuwaiti electricity and water ministry in 2008 aimed at expanding the electricity network to one of the largest new residential areas in the country. As per the contract, Alstom provided a range of equipment following standards specifically adapted to the climate conditions of the Gulf country.
