Electricity and Water Ministry tenders desalination and gas turbine projects
Kuwait’s Electricity and Water Ministry has invited groups to bid for a contract to build and maintain a seawater desalination unit for the water produced from the Al-Zour southern power station.
Contractors have until the 14 September to submit bids for the contract to install the desalination unit. The contract has an initial guarantee of KD2m ($6.9m).
The project will involve constructing a desalination unit capable of combining reverse osmosis technology and an alkalinity increasing unit for the water from the Al-Zour station, and will be able to handle 30 million imperial gallons per day.
The ministry has also invited groups to bid for a contract to design, build and operate the conversion of phase 2 of the existing gas turbines of Al-Zour southern power station site into a combined cycle system.
Contractors have until the 19 August to submit bids for the project. The tender has an initial guarantee of KD2m.
