Kuwait University to prequalify local firms for infrastructure work

Kuwait University has announced it will prequalify a number of local companies for construction work at the $3.5bn its campus in Shadidiyah.

The work will involve public service infrastructure for the campus.

A pre-tender meeting will be held 28 April, and the closing date for submitting pre-qualification forms is 18 May.

The process will result in two shortlists. The first will be for companies able to bid for tenders of more than KD20m ($75m), and the second for tenders of more than KD10 ($37m).

A US/local team of NBBJ and Gulf Consult has been awarded the 18-month contract to design the College of Science. Gulf Consult, together with Cambridge Seven Associates, also of the US, has won a similar contract covering the College of Engineering (MEED 18:8:06).
