05 November 2014

Facility will include an effluent water treatment plant and an injection facility

The new water treatment plant tendered by Kuwait Oil Company on 19 October has a budget of KD95m ($327m), according to a source with knowledge of the tendering process.

The treatment plant, which is slated to be located in northern Kuwait, will consist of an effluent water treatment plant and an injection facility to be used in enhanced recovery of hydrocarbons, according to the source.

Details of the scope of the project are yet to be published on Kuwait’s Central Tenders Committee (CTC) website.

The deadline for bids is 11 January 2015.

The new tender comes a month after KOC awarded a contract to Dubai-based engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) company Dodsal for a similar effluent water treatment and injection plant also being built in the north of Kuwait.
