The $550m development in the south of the Kingdom is being developed by Kuwaiti-based Gulf Holding Company.
In early January, local contractor Downtown Construction Company was awarded a $11.5m contract for the development of the project’s infrastructure. The company will be responsible for constructing roads, water storage facilities and other services. Work is scheduled to begin in February and will take 15 months to complete.
UK company Atkins is the main designer of the 260,000 square metre development (MEED 17:1:08).
