The project's scope of works and $110 million price tag will remain unchanged. However, Kayson will have to pick up Lahmeyer's extra costs. It is understood that the client, Iran Water Power Company (IWPC), asked for the change in the consortium's make-up.
IWPC is also in negotiations with a consortium comprising the local Faraband the French office of GEfor the main engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) package on the power plant attached to the dam. The plant is expected to cost $270 million and will have a capacity of 1,000 MW. A contract is due to be signed by the end of the year.
